PED alert: Emmanuel Clase

By Kyle Sullivan

Cleveland Indians reliever Emmanuel Clase has gotten an 80 game suspension after testing positive for a banned substance, PED boldenone. The suspension won’t start until the MLB season starts so he won’t be serving the suspension until the Indians first game.

The Indians acquired Clase in a trade earlier in the off season for Corey Kluber. His suspension will begin once the 2020 season starts and will have to sit for 80 games. After his 80 games, Clase will be able to pitch for the tribe. Last season with the Rangers, Clase pitched 23.1 innings and had a 2.31. (what a coincidence)

Clase was the key piece for the Rangers getting Kluber, along with Delino Deshields Jr.

Clase won’t be able to pitch for the Indians for 80 games, and if I were an Indians fan I would be super mad and upset because you basically traded 2 time Cy Young award winner for an okay outfielder and a player that is suspended. Clase has a three digit cutter that is unhittable.

Those are some of my thoughts on the Emmanuel Clase suspension and how it affects the Indians and Indian fans.
