Top 10 All-Time MLB Center Fielders

By Kyle Sullivan

There have been many good center fielders over the course of baseball's existence but there are a few that out shine the rest. Here are the 10 greatest center fielders that this game has ever seen.

10. ANDRE DAWSON

Some players on this list had power, while others had great gloves. Andre Dawson had it all. He was a four-time Silver Slugger and an eight-time Gold Glove Award winner.

9. KIRBY PUCKETT

A Hall of Famer, Kirby Puckett did it with his bat and glove. Plus, he was a two-time World Series champion. And in Game 6 of the 1991 World Series, he made one of the greatest catches you will ever see when he robbed Ron Gant of an extra base hit.

8. TRIS SPEAKER

They say he was one of the best with the glove. He also had a career batting average of .345.

7. DUKE SNIDER

He averaged 31 home runs and 101 RBI each season.

6. JOE DiMAGGIO

From what I'm told, nobody manned center field at Yankee Stadium quite like Joltin' Joe.

5. TY COBB

He was really fast, had the all-time hits record for a long time, and is a Hall of Famer.

4. KEN GRIFFEY JR.

A combination of power, speed, defense, arm, and contact, Griffey was the definition of a five-tool player.

3. MIKE TROUT

By the end of his career, there's a good chance Trout ends up at the top of this list.

2. MICKEY MANTLE

Being number two on this list is definitely something to be proud of. But I'm willing to bet that if Mantle was healthy throughout his career, he would've been number one.

1. WILLIE MAYS

If Mantle and Mays were switched on this list, I don't think anybody would argue. But because Mays hit more than 120 home runs than Mantle over the course of his career, Mays takes the top spot on this list.
